ARCHITECTURAL SPECIFICATION
FOR ENTRY MATS & MATWELL FRAMES

1. BIRRUS

recessed or surface mounted entry mat as indicated on the drawings.

Mats will be constructed from natural aluminium tread rails lightly furrowed on the exposed surface to provide a non-skid surface and include rubber support cushions mounted on base of each tread to counter any minor surface imperfections.
Treads are spaced at 50mm centres.
Sizes are mm x mm x
Note: Up to 6 metres wide without joins.

TREAD INSERTS:
a. Carpet will be selected from range colour.
Insert heavy duty MELCOR 'ORBIT' or ONTERA 'ENVISIONS'  range.
b. Black ribbed rubber scraping bars.
Grey ribbed vinyl (for interior use only)
c. Abrasive grit, heavy duty anti-slip (Charcoal)
d. Natural coir fibre: allow 10mm clearance above aluminium treads to ensure hinged doors have sufficient clearance.
4. MATWELL FRAMES will be fabricated from
a. 12 x 20 x 3mm (12 mm deep)
b. 20 x 25 x 3mm (20 mm deep)
c. 25 x 25 x 3mm (25mm deep)
  natural aluminium or brass angle complete with
a. Fully welded joints or
b. Standard 'Clip-in' corner brackets or
c. Mitred and drilled for screw fixing
Install in position so that the upper edge of the frame is flush with adjacent floor surfaces and anchor down as required.
d. Diminishing strip, 63mm wide (surface mounted applications) for 16 & 22mm mat.
Diminishing strip, 50mm wide to suit the 10mm matting system.
5. SCREED base of mat recess level with inside frame ledge, to support the mat.
